Cher makes son Chaz Bono question his worth with 'cheap power move'

Cher’s son Chaz Bono has reportedly asked his mother to fund his honeymoon with wife Shara Blue Mathes.

Chaz and Shara tied the knot in a glam wedding ceremony at The Hollywood Roosevelt hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Ahead of his big day, he posted a request on his social media for a monetary gift and now he is struggling to take his wife on their honeymoon.

Now Radar Online revealed that “it’s very hard to understand why Chaz would need to raise money. His mom is worth nearly half a billion dollars. People are wondering why she didn’t just pay for it. She can certainly afford it.”

An insider told the same outlet that the 57-year-old musician and writer was not inviting his affluent mother to his nuptials, making his pals believe that he refused to invite her because she denied ponying up the funds out of spite.

The source claimed, “It’s no secret they have a tough relationship. Apparently, last year things were so tense Chaz cut her from the wedding guest list. Obviously, he did end up including her.”

“But now that he’s basically passing the hat to raise the money for his honeymoon, people are whispering that Cher’s being cheap as some kind of power move,” noted the insider.

It is pertinent to mention that these demands of Chaz come during the same time when Cher is helping Chaz’s half-sibling Elijah Blue Allah get rid of his erratic behaviour, as he is on suicide watch.

The Burlesque actress’ bias is putting a huge strain on her relationship with Chaz and their inner circle is raising questions about the drastic difference in her treatment of both of her children.

“Cher has been putting a ton of money and effort into helping Elijah through his issues, and here Chaz is having to beg for money to go to Hawaii. It seems obvious that she’s playing favorites,” concluded the insider.
