At Kanye West concerts, he has a line for fans who make a beeline to watch him dazzle on stage: expect the unexpected. That's what he did by bringing out Lauryn Hill in SoFi Stadium.
This move left his viewers and fans speechless, as the '90s rap star had been retired from the music scene.
Nonetheless, her arrival at Ye's show in SoFi Stadium has buzzed the social media and left the 80,000 concertgoers in a trance.
Though West did not instantly give away the night's showstopper. He had to flip the script.
So, he let the audience wait, leaving some restless because earlier there had been rumors that Hill would hit the SoFi Stadium.
"I was promised Lauryn Hill, and it’s getting kind of late," a fan on social media complained.
However, it seems that is what anticipation Ye is aiming for because moments later Hill appeared on stage and broke the internet.
Not only did she just arrive but she also effectively owned the stage, as fan-obtained videos show.
"I’m definitely reaching wireless this year! Hopefully, Lauryn Hill will come to London as well. The GOAT is back," a fan wrote on social media.
Performing her iconic tracks, including Lost Ones, Hill pumped up adrenaline in the stadium, sending the audience into meltdown.
Viewers, some of them even suggest West stepped back to let the Grammy winner lead the show.
“Lauryn Hill might be the only person alive who can make Ye walk off his own stage," a fan on the internet joked.
Fans on social media were over the moon about what they saw: only West could pull Hill out of retirement onto the stage.
"Only Ye could get lauryn hill rapping in 2026 man this is just crazy," one person on social media penned.
It is worth noting that this is West's second full live concert at SoFi Stadium since 2021.
