Sanjay Leela Bhansali responds to 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' remake rumours
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is taking a trip down memory lane as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam completes 26 years.
The Heeramandi director, known for crafting masterpieces with his magical filmmaking skills, opened up to ETimes about filming the romantic starrer.
While the film has consistently impressed viewers and remains one of Sanjay's biggest hits, fans still have questions about the cast, including Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai.
The former power couple made headlines during their time together, and Sanjay can't help but gush about their on-screen chemistry in an exclusive conversation with the outlet.
Speaking of their powerful chemistry on the sets of the 1999 film, the legendary director said, "Yes, there was love in the air. But not just between them; there was a lot of affection among all of us. Zohra Sehgal ji, Helen, Salman, Aishwarya, Vikram Gokhale, Smita Jayekar – we were like one big family. I don't think I've had such a fulfilling experience shooting any other film."
Sanjay also couldn't stop raving about Aishwarya's portrayal of Nandini, which perfectly captured his vision.
When asked about potential remakes, the director expressed his reluctance, stating that he wouldn't remake any of his films except Khamoshi.
