King Khan celebrates 60th birthday

Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan kicked off his 60th birthday celebrations with heartfelt thanks to his fans, followed by a warm social media post explaining why he couldn’t greet his supporters in person outside his Mumbai home, Mannat.

“Thank you for making my birthday special as always. Full of gratitude… and those of you I couldn’t meet, I will see you soon. In the theatres and at the next birthday. Love u…” he wrote on Instagram.

After months of feverish anticipation, he has finally reclaimed his throne.

Fans went into a frenzy as the first glimpse of SRK in Siddharth Anand’s upcoming action extravaganza King dropped online.

The film’s title couldn’t be more fitting for Bollywood’s reigning monarch, famously known as King Khan.

Shortly afterwards on X, the superstar posted, “Have been advised by authorities that I will not be able to step out and greet all you lovely people who have been waiting for me.

My deepest apologies … it is for the overall safety of everyone due to crowd control issues. Thank you for understanding and believe me… I will miss seeing you more than you will. Was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing love. Love u all.”

Meanwhile, close friends and industry peers poured in their tributes. Filmmaker Karan Johar shared a touching post on Instagram, writing, “I vividly remember meeting you, Bhai, on the sets of Karan Arjun.

I went expecting the aura and magic of a rising superstar but instead met a man with a heart full of warmth and kindness. You’re probably the best husband, father, son-in-law, brother, and friend anyone could ask for!”

The birthday coincides with an extra treat for fans, a nationwide film festival from PVR INOX celebrating Khan’s legacy with screenings of his major hits such as Main Hoon Na and Devdas, across more than 75 cinemas in over 30 cities.
