Aamir Khan reacts to audience's 'comeback' remarks
Aamir Khan recently took a dig at audiences for calling his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, his “comeback”.
The Indian actor gently dismissed the label ahead of the film’s release, which serves as a follow-up to his 2007 hit, Taare Zameen Par.
In an exclusive interview with News 18, the Dangal star said, “Well, I’m not considering it a comeback film, quite honestly. My films usually come out once in three years anyway. A lot of actors have 8 to 10 flops, but we don’t call those comebacks, do we? I’ve had just one flop, and you’re calling it a comeback? I haven’t gone anywhere.”
Later in the conversation, the 60-year-old actor reflected on the script of his upcoming film, which builds upon the story of the 2007 original.
Aamir revealed that he was deeply moved by the script of the sequel, as it reminded of the emotional depth of the original film – prompting the decision to name the project Sitaare Zameen Par.
While, Taare Zameen Par focused on a child struggling with dyslexia, the upcoming comedy-drama explores intellectual disabilities such as autism and Down syndrome in children.
Notably, the PK actor was last seen in Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, in 2022.
For the unversed, R.S Prasanna’s directorial venture, starring Aparna Purohit, Ravi Bhagchandka, Genelia Deshmukh, and Aamir, is set to hit theatres on June 20.
