Tom Cruise has recently addressed ideas for Top Gun and Days of Thunder sequels after Mission: Impossible franchise comes to an end.
During an appearance on Today Show Australia, the Jack Reacher actor opened up that he’s working on potential sequels for 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick and the 1990 racing thriller, Days of Thunder.
“Yeah, we’re thinking and talking about many different stories and what could we do and what’s possible,” said the 62-year-old.
The Mummy actor shared, “It took me 35 years to figure out ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, so all of these things we’re working on, we’re discussing ‘Days of Thunder’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick.’”
Tom pointed out that there are “numerous other movies that we’re actively working on right now”.
“I’m always shooting a movie, prepping a movie, posting a movie,” remarked the Oblivion actor.
Tom mentioned that he had finished a movie with Alejandro Iñárritu too, who did ‘The Revenant,’ and we’ll be coming out with that.
“That was an extraordinary experience and Mission: Impossible’ director Christopher McQuarrie and I are always working on several different movies,” stated the Knight And Day actor.
For those unversed, Maverick was released in May 2022 and it became a box office hit with $1.49 billion worldwide.
Meanwhile, Days of Thunder was released four years ago after the original Top Gun grossed $157 million worldwide at the end of its theatrical run.
