Alec Baldwin recalls his kids' hilarious reaction to seeing him in 'Beetlejuice'

Alec Baldwin is looking back at a time when his kids were younger and "mean" that they did not even recognize their own dad onscreen in Beetlejuice.

The 68-year-old actor recently joined Amanda Seyfried, who was promoting her new film The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd, earlier in October at the Hamptons International Film Festival, via People.

During the conversation, Baldwin recalled his kids refused to recognize him as Adam Maitland, who dies and becomes a ghost, in the 1988’s Beetlejuice, when his family got together to watch the movie.

“I remember when my kids were a little smaller, and we watched Beetlejuice, I’d say, ‘That’s Dad. That’s Daddy.’ And they’d be like, ‘No. No,’” the proud dad shared.

Baldwin, at the time, explained to his kids, “Well, that’s me when I was skinny and I had dark hair. And I was good-looking. I was able to look better then.”

“And they were like, ‘No. No, that’s not you.’ They’re so mean to me. My kids are so mean to me,” the actor shared with a laugh.

For those unaware, Baldwin is father to eight kids, seven of whom he shares with his wife, Hilaria Baldwin and he welcomed his eldest daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

Seyfried also revealed that she recently watched the "classic" movie with her kids.

“It’s a classic at our house now,” she shared, adding, “My son is able to watch it now. What a classic.”
