Andrew Garfield gives a rare glimpse into his life away from Hollywood
Andrew Garfield is sharing a rare insight into what his "great day off" looks like.
The Artificial actor recently spoke to People about his film The Magic Faraway Tree and recalled the surprising events that took place during his recent perfect day off he spent in New York City.
Andrew said, “I had a really great day off in New York actually last Sunday … I had two days off actually, and that was remarkable."
And The Uprising star spilled that his "great" day included a massage and "a lot" of sobbing.
He went on to share, “I went and saw one of my best friends in the world, Greg [Miele], in his apartment. He does physical therapy.
"He’s an amazing physical therapist, massage therapist, I’ve known him for decades. And I went and saw him, caught up with him. He made my muscles hurt so much with his work, but then you feel like a million dollars afterwards."
Then the two-time Oscar nominee went to see a Broadway show and it helped him let go of some big emotions.
The 42-year-old actor shared, “Then I walked uptown to see the latest production of Death of a Salesman that’s happening in New York with Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf and Chris Abbott. And I cried a lot — sobbed uncontrollably watching that show. I got to give Nathan a hug afterwards.”
Andrew then went on a walk through Central Park and stopped by the Bethesda Fountain as it has a special place in his heart because the fountain appears in the play Angels in America and Andrew has been involved in the show in the past.
The Spider-Man star ended his day with dinner with his pals and some solo TV time.
“I met friends for dinner, and that doesn’t get much better than that,” he noted. “I think I was in bed at 9. I watched some Game of Thrones. I watched some Nights of the Seven Kingdoms, and I passed out at 10, and I got eight hours.”
“And I mean — that’s a very middle-aged man’s favorite special day, but I’m sticking to it,” Andrew added jokingly.
