Cameron Diaz, The Holiday actress, discussed about the changes she has noticed in film industry since returning to screens after a decade-long hiatus.
In recent episode of Skip Intro podcast, The Mask star shared how film sets have changed dramatically over the years, mainly due to the rise of the #MeToo movement.
"The industry is so different. I mean, I definitely have to say that MeToo changed everything. You walk on to the set and it is different," said the Charlie’s Angle artist.
Reflecting on the past experiences, she added, "There was always just like that one guy, you know, on set, that you were like, 'God, here he comes again'. There was always layers and layers of inappropriateness that you just kind of had to put up with."
Diaz, who recently made her comeback in Netflix action film, Back in Action, starring alongside Jamie Foxx, revealed that before filming began, she was approached by Human Resources to discuss the inappropriate behaviour at workplace, and was provided with an "anonymous hotline" for cast and crew to report any issues.
The mother two shared that she was "amazed" by the "level of security and safety you feel as a woman now on set is great" noting that she had never experienced such feeling on any set before.
The new movie, Back in Action follows Diaz (Emily) and Jamie (Matt), two former CIA agents who have given up their life of espionage and action in order to settle down, start a family, and live a normal life.
It is available on the streaming platform since January 17, 2025.
