Cristiano Ronaldo marked his name in the history books once again as Portugal brutally defeated Turkey in during their Euro 2024 clash on Saturday which ended with a 3-0 score.

Ronaldo, 39, became the highest assist provider in the Euros since 1968, when the the tournament began, The Indian Express reported.

The five-time Ballon d'Or award winner brought his assist tally to seven when he made a pass for Bruno Fernandes to score in Portugal’s 3-0 rout of Turkey on Saturday.

Portugal, which was already leading 2-0 at half time, thanks to a Bernardo Silva strike and an own goal by Samet Akaydin, made it 3-0 after Ronaldo chose to pass to Fernandes in the 56th minute.

The Al Nassr striker's latest record comes after he became the first player to feature at six European Championship tournaments, earlier this week, in a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic in their opening game.

The Portuguese football legend, who made his Euro debut in 2004 where his national team reached the final, already holds the records for the most goals (14) at the tournament, while he extended his appearance record to 26 games.

Ronaldo was the joint-top scorer at Euro 2020 with five goals — the same as Czech forward Patrik Schick.

The former Manchester United, Real madrid and Juventus star has a total of 130 goals altogether in 208 games for Portugal since his debut as an 18-year-old under Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.
