Rashmika Mandanna defended her last film, Animal, by saying that the thing which matters is our audience has enjoyed the story.
For the unversed, a segment of society dubbed Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s action crime movie 'misogynist' and called out the makers for promoting violence.
Now, Rashmika who starred alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the movie, said that Animal was 'raw, real and correct,' during her conversation with Neha Dhupia on the No Filter Neha vodcast.
Speaking of Ranbir's character, she said, "He’s messed in the head and will go to any lengths for his father, that was engraved in my mind when I shot for the film. Nobody can do anything about it, it’s his story."
Rashmika added, "If you want films to be raw, real and correct, Animal is that. After watching it, to say it’s misogynistic or whatever…if you enjoyed it, just leave it."
Previously, Ranbir also addressed the objections against his film, saying the success of his latest project is an answer to all the negative critiques.
For the unversed, the story of Animal revolves around a troubled relationship between a father and his son, exceptionally portrayed by the movie's male leads.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also features Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri with ensemble cast.
