Shahid Kapoor revealed that the character he played in his popular film 'Kabir Singh' still exists in him.
For the unversed, Kapoor played the role of Kabir in the 2019 action romantic film alongside Kiara Advani.
The movie has garnered praise, but the segment of the society criticised the Bollywood actor for "glorifying toxic masculinity" with his character.
During an interview at the Forbes India Leadership Awards, Kapoor opened up about the impact his movie's characters left on him.
He said, "I wouldn’t say a romantic hero is like me and Kabir is not like me. There is a little crazy inside me somewhere, so Kabir is existing within me, deep down."
Kapoor added, "Those crazy streaks are there within me as an actor, so I chase complex characters."
The actor, who was introduced in the Indian film industry as the chocolate boy, shared that he wanted to chase different roles.
The Jab We Met actor said, "The idea is to be part of stories, to play different characters who represent different aspects of human behavior, of society, people who are from different backgrounds, whose brain and heart work differently, who look different and speak different. I will always chase that."
