Emraan Hashmi remembers Mahesh Bhatt's debut film warning

Emraan Hashmi remembered how the Bollywood renowned filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt warned him sternly before his first film, Footpath.

During a recent interview with the Indian Express, the 44-year-old actor shared memories from his early days in acting and revealed that despite being connected to the Bhatt family, he felt no special treatment.

The Jannat actor also revealed that Mahesh set the tone for his acting journey by straightforwardly saying, "If you are not good in that first shot, and then subsequently in the scenes, we will throw you out of this film."

Emraan further reminisced how he was made to feel afraid by being warned to either perform well or give up on acting altogether.

He told, "He was clear, he said we can’t put our money on you if the audience doesn’t endorse you, if you are not a good actor, because we are not here for charity."

"We are probably a part of the same family, but we can’t do beyond this,’ because it is a business," Emraan added.

The Murder 2 star also mentioned that this belief made him understand that he had to stay alert and demonstrate his worth.

Moreover, Emraan also talked about how his family didn't believe in his acting abilities.

He explained,“My grandmother felt I shouldn’t get into movies because I traditionally didn’t have that mindset of wanting to become an actor. My mom was really scared for me. But they felt, ‘Ok, he probably will have the presence, let’s try him."
