A prayer meet has been arranged in Mumbai on March 2, 2024 to remember renowned singer Pankaj Udhas, who passed away on February 26, 2024 due to a prolong illness.
Taking to her Instagram account on Wednesday, Udhas' daughter Nayaab Udhas shared a post, which includes the details about a prayer meet of the seasoned singer.
The event is set for Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Trident Hotel, The Rooftop, Nariman Point in Mumbai, from IST 4 pm to 6 pm.
The post stated, “IN LOVING MEMORY OF PADMASHRI PANKAJ UDHAS 17th MAY 1951 – 26th FEBRUARY, 2024 PRAYER MEET WILL BE HELD ON – SATURDAY.”
“2ND MARCH, 2024 TRIDENT HOTEL, THE ROOFTOP, NARIMAN POINT. 4:00 PM – 6:00PM THE UDHAS FAMILY.”
On Tuesday, February 26, 2024, the last rites of the ghazal singer were held in Mumbai, announced by Nayab.
For the unversed, Udhas was widely recognized for his significant contributions to the Indian music scene.
He introduced a distinctive way of singing Urdu poetry combined with melody.
Udhas performed famous ghazals like Chitthi Aayee Hai, Chandi Jaisa Rang Hai Tera,Na Kajre Ki Dhar,Thodi Thodi Piya Karo and many more.
