TNS Beaconhouse organised an event to showcase International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB-MYP) students’ personal projects. Held at DHA campus auditorium on March 2, 2016, the presentations and displays were also open to parents and students from other schools.

The IB-MYP is for students between the ages of 11 and 16 years and culminates with student projects.

The students presented their final personal projects that are designed to be student-centred and age-appropriate.

Their aim is to enable students to engage in practical exploration through a cycle of inquiry, action and reflection. MYP projects also help students to develop the attributes of the IB learner profile.

The students’ personal projects focused on challenges that motivated them, and addressed a wide range of topics.

The topics were organised under the themes: Identities and relationships; orientation in space and time; personal and cultural expression; scientific and technical innovation; globalisation and sustainability; and, fairness and development.

The high quality of project outcomes and products showed the level of effort that went into this process, as well as the students’ confidence in their work.
