CM approves promotion of 75 SIDB employees

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak approved promotion of 75 employees of the Small Industrial Development Board (SIDB).Chief Minister approved promotions at a meeting of the Board of Directors of SIDB at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here.

Secretary for industries Dr Aftab Akbar Durrani, Managing Director SIDB Rasheed Khan Paindakhel and officials of the Finance, P&D, TEVTA and SIDB and presidents of Chamber of Commerce, Women Chamber of Commerce and small industries associations attended the meeting.

The meeting sanctioned promotion of two employees of the board from grade-18 to grade-19, two employees from grade-17 to grade-18 and two others from grade-16 to grade-17. Similarly, 69 employees of the board, including employees from grade 1 to 15, were promoted to the next grade.

The meeting approved converting Patti training centre in Swat into wood working centre and approved construction of commercial plazas at Small Industrial Estate (SIE), Peshawar, and Batkhela.

The board sanctioned construction of another story at the SIDB plaza in Islamabad while establishment of Arts and Crafts Centre to be run jointly by SIDB and Culture Department at the same plaza was also approved.

It also approved leasing out of commercial plots at SIE Bannu and Karak through open tendering and purchase of 30 kanal additional land for SIE Karak. The chief minister directed the board to establish training center at each industrial estate. He also ordered computerisation of the complete records of SIDB. He underlined the need of imparting the need-based training at the industrial training centers to create for the required skills to promote employment opportunity in the province.
