Actor Mohib Mirza, who will be seen opposite Sanam Saeed as the male lead in Bachaana releasing this February, is of the view that Indian media resists in promoting Pakistani films and is not open to their release in India.

In a telephonic conversation with IANS, the 36-year-old actor said that India is not willing to give exposure to Pakistani films in their country. “I feel that one should mutually exchange storytelling. Our films get very less exposure in India; while on the other hand, we give exposure to their films so much.”

In a revealing interview, the actor noted that the entertainment industry of India is very big and they make huge investments in films unlike Pakistan. However, this doesn’t mean that Pakistani artists are less talented. “We are equally talented and we have all means to produce and achieve things,” added Mirza.

In Bachaana, Mirza is essaying the role of a Pakistani taxi driver in Mauritius who meets an Indian girl Alia (played by Sanam Saeed) and what follows is their collective journey. This will be followed by Arth 2 which is slated to release later this year. Written and directed by Shaan Shahid, Arth 2 also features Humaima Malik and Uzma Hassan in lead roles alongside Mirza who said that the remake is a new interpretation of the popular Hindi film.

As far as working in Bollywood films is concerned, Mirza feels talent has no boundaries. “I think acting has no boundaries, like music. If I get some nice opportunity and if I feel it’s worth doing, I will take it up,”concluded Mirza.
