You must be as sick and tired, as we are, of Eid collections coming out of every nook and cranny of every bazaar. He’s a quick overview of what we recommend you invest in…

What are you wearing this Eid? From high street brands to high end designers the market is inundated with options but that’s not always a good thing, right? How do you know you’re picking out the best of the lot or that you won’t find something more attractive once you’ve already bought your outfit? We went through all the Eid collections available (so you wouldn’t have to) and picked out the best five for you. Read through our list and put your best foot (clad in a killer pair of heels) forward. In no particular order then:

Generation

We’ve said it before (a bunch of times) and we’ll say it again, Generation’s A Dot that Went for a Walk redefined Eastern-wear for us this season. The collection was innovative, versatile and wearable and we’re thrilled that it’s finally coming to retail right before Eid. Whether you’re looking for something simple that can be re-worn on a day to day basis or pieces that can be styled with Western wear as well, Generation will have options for you (think the white pleated top Parisheh James wore on the ramp paired with ripped jeans). If you’re in the mood for something a little more formal and glamorous pick up on of their fabulous shalwars with tassel detailing.

Sania Maskatiya

Maskatiya’s impeccable aesthetic has never failed us. She’s bankable for always producing wearable luxury and you can never walk out of her store empty-handed. Her Eid collection is covetable; mostly monochrome in its colour palette with a cool blue or two thrown in for good measure. The silhouettes are simple and clean with a focus on jackets and boxy, A line tunics. We’re particularly in love with the sheer paneled skinny pant that features embellishment, giving a new twist to a trend that’s already become stale.

The Pink Tree

There’s a certain appeal in going full blown ethnic (it also doesn’t hurt that tribal ethnic is trending globally right now and they’re looking to the East for its indigenous ethos) and Mohsin Saeed and his team gets that which is why his recent muslin collection strikes a note with us. Deviating from what is the norm de rigueur these days in Pakistan (fusion silhouettes) Saeed goes old school with voluminous gharara pants, gota, block printing and tie-dye. Pick up one of his fun pieces, layer glass bangles, a pair of chaand-balas and add khussas for a look that’ll have everyone gushing.

Misha Lakhani

With her soft, romantic feminine approach towards design, Lakhani’s eponymous label is one we check out regularly, Eid or festive occasions notwithstanding. Her gorgeous Eid offering has us drooling; soothing pastels paired with airy silhouettes that make you feel cool just by looking at them. We’re especially smitten by two white pieces; one off should tunic with multi-coloured polka dots and another elegant, floor grazing sheath that is a signature Lakhani ensemble.

Shamsha Hashwani

Hashwani’s Eid collection is impressive. Easy, breezy and yet bespoke, Hashwani caters to a slightly more mature audience with what’s on offer. She sticks to classic summer shades which translate to lots of white, cream and beige, with one striking red outfit thrown in for good measure. If you’re looking for something opulent and formal, this would be our pick.

Warning: Good fashion usually comes at a price so prepare to burn a hole in your budget!
