Traffic Karachi deputy inspector general (DIG) has announced the routes of the Chup Tazia procession, which will be taken out on 8th Rabiul Awwal (Monday, January 21).
The DIG said that vehicle owners wishing to participate in the procession should obtain traffic entry stickers to display them on the windscreens of their vehicles.
After the Fajr prayer on Monday, the procession will be taken out from Nishtar Park in Soldier Bazar and will culminate at Imambargah Hussainia Irania in Kharadar after the Zohrain prayers.
A second procession will be taken out from Qasr-e-Musayyab in Rizvia Society and will culminate at Masjid-o-Imambargah Shah-e-Najaf on Martin Road.
Entry stickers for government and media vehicles, and ambulances will be issued on January 19 and 20 at the DIG office in the traffic security branch of the police headquarters on Aga Khan III Road in Garden.
Owners or managers of scouts and welfare organisations, and of vehicles distributing Sabils, Nazar and Niaz will have to submit application forms with attested copies of the vehicles’ registration books, owners’ computerised national identity cards and driving licences, as well as two attested photographs of drivers and an official letter from the organisation at Qasr-e-Musayyab by January 18.
