KARACHI: South Korean delegation visited Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) to seek out partnership opportunities in port upgradation, a statement said on Thursday.
According to details, delegates from Ministry of Ocean & Fisheries Republic of South Korea and Chairman PNSC exchanged views on upgrading port infrastructure. The delegation was keenly interested in setting up joint ventures in dredging work contribution, workshop and dockyard development, training facilities exchange in maritime sector, port development and operations especially related to oil piers, storage, ullage and pipeline ventures.
The PNSC chairman highlighted a few proposals including the enhancement of Pakistan's port infrastructure, reconstruction of oil pier - 1 KPT, oil storage and ullage issues, dredging opportunities, PNSC workshop, operations of harbour crafts, construction of ship building facility. The delegation asked to be sent the details of these projects through Ministry of Ports and Shipping.
The South Korean delegation comprised of 6-members and was led by Director of Port Investment Co-operation Division, Hi Young Lee. The participants included Deputy Director Kyuhwan Ko, IL JIN International Co Ltd Representative director Hwang Beom Ryu, SEIL Engineering Company President Jumin Song, SEIL Engineering Company Director Youngkil Hyun, GIA Company President Kyu Sung Lee, Madina Trading Co Ltd President Nawaz Jan Muhammad, Korea Ports and Harbours Association Team Leader Yongwong Kim, and ex-Ambassador to South Korea Shaukat Ali Mukadam.
