Watch: Robot loses control during dance show in China

A humanoid robot unexpectedly malfunctioned during a dance performance at the opening ceremony of a sports meet at Xinjiang University of Science and Technology in China on April 27.

The event video shows the robot losing its balance before it started executing rapid kung-fu kicks against performers who were standing nearby, which caused astonishment and laughter among the audience. Social media users joked that the robot either became confused by the crowd or was secretly performing a “Drunken Master” routine all along.
