Queen Elizabeth used coupons to make her wedding dress

Queen Elizabeth had initially decided to go for a modest family wedding when marrying Prince Philip owing to the economic constraints in the UK however, she went for a different approach to respect the tough financial situation.

The monarch was said to have collected some 200 coupons that allowed her to get enough silk for her wedding dress to be made.
