JHANG: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said that the situation would get better soon as the government was working day and night to get the country out of the financial crisis.

Addressing public gatherings arranged for the by-elections on PP-125 and PP-127, she said the PMLN had become a part of the government for the sake of the nation and steer the country out of the serious financial crisis created by complications of an incapable and power-hungry Imran Khan. Maryam said that farmers must vote for the 'lion' for the bright future of the agriculture sector ignored during the last four years.

Addressing gatherings at Gojra More, Chiniot More and Athara Hazari, the PMLN vice president said that people must cast their votes for PML-N candidates Faisal Hayat Jaboana and Aslam Bharwana for the development of the district. She asked the people of both constituents including women to come out on July 17 to stamp the symbol of lion for the sake of a real progressive Pakistan and a better future. Earlier, she was warmly welcomed by a large number of party workers.

She told her supporters that the Shehbaz Sharif-led party’s competition was not against their arch-rival PTI but with incompetence and inflation. “If people want inflation to decrease, then they should vote for the PMLN. Our competition is not with Imran Khan but with inflation and incompetence,” she added.

Maryam asked the people to make a promise to her that they would throw out people who were against Punjab's development. The PMLN leader also assured the people that she would not rest until their fortunes were changed. Maryam concluded her rally with a public gathering in Jhang’s Athara Hazari, where she told the people that as soon as she had entered the district she heard only two things i.e. Imran Khan was a “liar and thief”.

The PMLN leader told the people that the country would have gone bankrupt had the coalition government not taken difficult decisions, adding that only good news would be heard now. “Shehbaz Sharif sought a summary as soon as oil prices declined internationally,” she added.

She claimed that the PM would announce a decrease in petrol prices within two days. “Shehbaz Sharif asked me to tell the people of Jhang that the government will ease your difficulties,” she added. She maintained that the prices of petroleum products had been increased out of necessity and blamed former prime minister Imran Khan’s policies for the hike.

Taking a jibe at Imran Khan, Maryam said that the PTI chairman was now targeting the children of her father and uncle. She also advised him to go to Swabi and Tank where there was flooding instead of abusing people in Punjab. “Have you ever seen a public representative go to court against relief provided to people?” she asked while mentioning the PTI’s decision to go to court over Punjab CM’s decision to provide free electricity to households consuming less than 100 units of power.
