JI demands probe into teenager’s death
TIMERGARA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan on Monday condemned the Islamabad Police for allegedly killing a 14-year-old boy Hassan Khan hailing from Upper Dir and residing with his family in Rawalpindi.
Talking to this scribe here, he alleged the police lock-ups were torture cells and the law-enforcers had become ‘murderers’. The senator expressed anger over the incident and wondered whether or not the police were being taught about human rights in the training academies. “Legally speaking, the police cannot detain a juvenile in a lock-up. This is a gross violation of the law,” the JI leader maintained.
Mushtaq Ahmad added that he would raise his voice against the incident in the Senate, asking the government to announce a judicial probe into the matter and give exemplary punishment to those found involved in the extrajudicial killing of the innocent boy.
Meanwhile, the residents of Dir turned to the social media, expressing anger over the incident and demanding justice for the victim.
