KP governor, Saudi envoy discuss investment in minerals, agri sectors

PESHAWAR: Governor Shah Farman has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rich in natural resources, particularly in minerals and agriculture sectors which need to be explored by foreign investors.

He expressed these views in a meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said al-Malki, who called on him in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad on Thursday, said a handout here.

The investment potential in mineral and agriculture sectors, particularly in olive production were discussed in the meeting. They agreed that mutual cooperation would be initiated in the mineral and agriculture sectors and Saudi Arabia would provide its assistance to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in processing and exporting minerals.

The matters pertaining to bilateral relations and mutual interest also came under discussion. It is pertinent to mention here that Saudi ambassador had already assured the KP governor in a recent meeting of cooperation in tapping minerals potential.

The envoy had said Saudi Arabia would send its team of experts to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The governor thanked the ambassador for showing interest in KP investment potential and said that Pakistan enjoyed very close relations with Saudi Arabia which were getting stronger day by day.
