Pakistan’s healthcare infrastructure is not strong enough to cater to the needs of thousands of poor people who cannot afford a private medical treatment. Government hospitals are plagued with issues like mismanagement, overworked staff and shortage of medicines that trouble the already troubled patients.
Government doctors are more interested in running their private clinics and don’t give enough attention to patients who come to government hospitals for a medical check-up. The government must take steps to tackle these problems and provide affordable healthcare to people.
