Not followers of ‘court novel’, review being considered: Rana Sanaullah
Says Aitzaz is a hypocrite, sells his intelligence to the highest bidder
LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday said they were not followers of the ‘court novel’ and also the PML-N might consider challenging the decision of the dissenting judges.
He said the dissenting notes by the judges had not gone down very well with the PML-N. “Legal experts and the party are considering the possibility of challenging that dissenting decision,” Rana Sana added.
Talking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly, the provincial minister said conspiracies were being hatched to make the proposed joint investigation ream (JIT) to be constituted on the Supreme Court’s directives controversial but the plot would not succeed. Social media and other forums, he added, were being used to misguide the people over the JIT issue.
Rana Sana said PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid and Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq were making efforts to exert pressure on the proposed JIT. He said the PTI was trying to influence the composition and working of JIT which would not be allowed at any cost.
“These evil intentions of the ‘Jewish Lobby’ won’t succeed and the PML-N will ensure that the JIT conducts its investigation in a neutral and congenial environment,” said Rana Sana. Referring to Asif Ali Zardari, he said it was ironic that PPP leader known for his legacy of corruption was talking about leading an anti-corruption campaign.
He said Aitzaz Ahsan was a hypocrite “who sells his intelligence to the highest bidder without considering right or wrong”. Rana Sana noted that the minority decision in the Panama Papers case was being propagated as the majority decision which was contempt of court.
