Respect the worker
By our correspondents

Intolerance has damaged our society. I was recently passing by the Garden area when I saw a huge crowd gathered on the road and beating up a few people. Upon inquiry, I got to know that the targeted people belong to the electric company and had been removing illegal hook connections from the area. While doing their work, they were attacked by these enraged individuals.
Incidents like these should help us realise that we are heading in the wrong direction. As a society we should avoid such acts. I request all my country people to honour all these public service workers who are committed to their work just for our comfort. They deserve our respect, not our anger.
