Water is a basic need for every human being but, sadly, many countries are now facing serious water shortages. People in different parts of the world are struggling to get clean water for drinking, cooking, and farming. Droughts, pollution and water wastage are making the problem worse day by day. In some areas, families have to walk for miles just to get a few litters of water. In others, people are forced to drink dirty or unsafe water, which leads to serious diseases like cholera and diarrhoea, especially in children. Farmers are also suffering because there is not enough water for crops and animals. This is leading to food shortages and even more poverty.
The reasons for this crisis include climate change, deforestation, overuse of water in industries and lack of proper water management. Many people still waste water without realising how valuable it is. If we do not take action now, the situation will get worse, and future generations will suffer even more. Every person should try to save water in their homes, schools and workplaces. Governments should invest in better water systems, repair leaks and create awareness campaigns. We must also protect our rivers, lakes and groundwater from pollution and overuse.
