Nasir announces solarisation of IHRI, Rs20m donation from CM
Sindh Minister for Energy, Development, and Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah visited the Institute of Holistic Rehabilitation and Innovation (IHRI), a centre for children with special needs, in Karachi on Saturday, accompanied by Advisor to the Chief Minister for Public Health Saleem Baloch.
During the visit, Shah lauded the institute’s performance and announced a donation of Rs20 million on behalf of the chief minister, along with an additional Rs1 million from his personal funds.
The ministers toured the facility, interacted with teachers and children, and commended the efforts of the staff. They were joined by IHRI founder Rizaq Pardesi, Programme Head Afia Wajahat, PR Director Agha Sherazi, Brand Ambassador Mazhar Rizvi, Rajiya Muhammad Ashraf, and Abbas Dhariyo. Minister Nasir Shah said non-governmental organisations like IHRI play a crucial role in public service and are valuable partners to the government. He announced that all IHRI centres, currently serving around 2,000 children, would be gradually solarised to ensure sustainable energy solutions.
The planning minister praised charitable and social welfare organisations, acknowledging the dedication of their founders, administrators, and volunteers. Reaffirming the government's commitment, he said the provincial administration stands ready to support and collaborate with such institutions, in line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision of public service and relief provision.
