MANSEHRA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was involved in large-scale corruption and would not take a fresh vote of confidence if he was asked.

“I am sure that Ali Amin Gandapur will not take the vote of confidence, as ministers are quitting the cabinet because of his corruption and favouritism,” he told reporters.Kundi, who earlier presided over the Hazara University 14 convocation, said that committees of ‘big robbers’ were constituted to hide cases of corruption and irregularities.

The governor said that the PTI was being run without any direction and its leaders were trying to woo Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to join the opposition camp.“The PTI leaders, without taking the provincial president [chief minister] into confidence, are holding parleys with the JUIF chief,” he added.

He also offered his party’s chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari to step down from governorship if they wished to replace him with Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s nominee.

Kundi said that the government had failed to address the law and order situation in the province, which was evident that it was harbouring militants to disturb law and order here.“The PTI government baton-charged and resorted to teargas shelling on peaceful local government representatives of its own party in Peshawar,” said Kundi.

Earlier, speaking at the Hazara University’s convocation, the governor said that educated youths should come forward to pull the country out of current socio-economic challenges.“You are the future of our nation and we have high hopes for your outstanding intelligence and abilities,” Kundi said.

He added that it was an era of artificial intelligence and developed courtiers were taking advantage of it everywhere to put their country on a more advanced stage.“You have abilities and potential to steer this country out of current challenges and put it on the path to prosperity and development,” he added.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohsin Nawaz said that Hazara University was imparting quality education to students in 32 academic departments.Over 600 male and female students were awarded degrees on the occasion.Dr Mohsin said that 90 gold medals were also given away to PhDs and students who shined in curricular activities.
