MANSEHRA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar on Tuesday said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would inaugurate the Rs22 billion water supply scheme in the district soon.
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soon visit the district and inaugurate this mega potable water supply scheme. It is unfortunate that the cost of the project has surged to Rs22 billion from RS 4 billion owing to the apathy of the PTI government,” he told reporters at Paras area here.
Captain (retd) Safdar said he visited the area from where the mega water supply scheme would be built.“A high-tech plant will be installed at Lughmani hills near Mansehra and the water would be supplied to the city and its suburbs after the purifying process,” he added.
He said the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had approved the Rs4 billion water supply scheme and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) was tasked with completing the project. However, the PTI-led federal government had created hurdles in the smooth execution of the project, he added.
