Medal winning sisters honoured
LAHORE : The Vice Chancellor of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), along with the sports management team, warmly welcomed and honoured the exceptional achievements of three sisters - Veronika Sohail, Twinkle Sohail and Sybil Sohail, who clinched 15 gold medals in the Asian Pacific African Combined Powerlifting Championship in South Africa.
Vice Chancellor of LCWU said that winning 15 gold medals is a great achievement and definitely it is a historic occasion for the country. “Without any doubt, the Sohail Sisters grabbed a great respect for the country on foreign soil,” she added.
Veronika Sohail, a current student of LCWU, has made significant strides in the field of powerlifting and weightlifting. Veronika holds a world record in powerlifting set in 2018. She was awarded the Pride of Performance by ISPR in Rawalpindi in 2021. She has also clinched the Asian Gold Medal twice, in 2018 and 2024, and won four silver medals in the Asian University Cup in Hong Kong in 2024.
