NA panel praises army for defending national sovereignty
Earlier, defence secretary listed role and responsibilities of ministry under Rules of Business 1973.
ISLAMABAD: Expressing affirmation, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Defence unanimously appreciated the armed forces for preserving and defending the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.
The committee resolved that the armed forces belong to them and they stand with the armed forces. This resolve was expressed by the committee in an in-camera meeting, held under committee chairman Fatehullah Khan here at Parliament House on Friday.
Paying homage to martyrs and defence of Pakistan, the committee unanimously decided to visit Yadgar-e-Shuhada. Earlier, the defence secretary listed the role and responsibilities of the ministry under the Rules of Business 1973. He said the ministry played the role of a bridge between the government and the armed forces in terms of all defence related matters. The NA panel resolved to support the armed forces to make the defence of Pakistan impregnable.
