Woman, girl going to picnic shot, injured by muggers in Karachi
Police said the shooting occurred when the robbers attempted to mug a family from New Karachi travelling to Hawkesbay in a car for a picnic.
Unidentified armed assailants on Sunday injured a woman and a young girl by firing at their legs for offering resistance during a mugging bid in the Hawkesbay area.
The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital, Karachi. The injured woman was identified as 35-year-old Naila, wife of Yousuf, and the girl as eight-year-old Sakina, daughter of Kamran. Police said the shooting occurred when the robbers attempted to mug a family from New Karachi travelling to Hawkesbay in a car for a picnic.
South DIG Syed Asad Raza took notice of the incident and formed a special team to arrest the suspects. The DIG also issued a show-cause notice to the Mauripur SHO. The DIG directed the SHO to arrest the suspects within a week and warned him of action if he failed to do so.
