The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital, Karachi. The injured woman was identified as 35-year-old Naila, wife of Yousuf, and the girl as eight-year-old Sakina, daughter of Kamran. Police said the shooting occurred when the robbers attempted to mug a family from New Karachi travelling to Hawkesbay in a car for a picnic.
