YNA demands nursing university
LAHORE:The Young Nurses Association (YNA) has praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her historic and revolutionary steps in the field of medical and health.
Office-bearers of YNA appreciated the efforts of CM Punjab to provide best treatment facilities to the patients practically at their doorstep. President YNA Rozina Manzoor, Khalida Tabasum, Miss Yasra Siddique and Shamshad Niazi while addressing the meeting of Nurses Association at LGH said that the nursing community has a prominent position in the medical field and we will defend our rights at every forum. In addition to demands and other issues, timely expression of opinions and actions are taken about all medical related fields.
They stressed the importance of setting up a government-level nursing university in the province. They also suggested increasing the number of nurses' seats from rural health centres to teaching hospitals in view of the increasing number of patients so that the nursing community can have the opportunity to work for their future in a more efficient manner. They reiterated the proposal to promote the Nurses Officer to Grade 21 like the officers of other departments. They also demanded the government meet the shortage of faculty members for the education and training of nursing students without further delay.
Rozina Manzoor / Khalida Tabasum, while mentioning the achievements of her Association along with other officials told that until now the cases of promotion of nurses were at the mercy of red tape for years while the Association worked for the promotion of 1,800 nurses.
Nurses services lauded
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said on the occasion of International Nurses Day that today is a day to pay tribute to the services of nurses all over the world. Nursing is the backbone of the health system. On the instructions of CM Maryam Nawaz, we are trying to improve the nursing sector. We want to bring modern reforms in nursing sector of Punjab. Nurses will be given courses according to modern requirements. We want to take the quality of nursing sector of Punjab to international level. On the occasion of International Nurses Day, we pay our respects for the wonderful services rendered. Upgradation of nursing colleges has also been directed.
