Chocolate Mousse

This simple yet sophisticated, airy yet intense dessert has been a hit all over the world and it is perfect to enjoy with your loved ones. This week, You! collaborates with founder and CEO of Kitchen Crafts, Kausar Ahmed, who shares her recipe for a decadent Chocolate Mousse.

Ingredients

Egg yolks .................................................................... 4

Sugar .....................................................................1/4 cup

Heavy whipping cream ............................................... 1 cup

Semisweet chocolate chips ........................................ 1 cup

Heavy whipping cream ....................................... 1 1/2 cups

Method

Beat egg yolks in a small bowl on high speed for about 3 minutes, or until thick and lemon coloured. Gradually beat in sugar.

Put 1 cup whipping cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until hot. Gradually stir half of the hot whipping cream into egg yolk mixture; stir back into hot cream in the saucepan.

Cook over low heat about 5 minutes, stirring constantly; until mixture thickens (do not boil). Stir in chocolate chips until melted.

Cool, cover and refrigerate about 2 hours, stirring occasionally, just until chilled.

Beat 1 1/2 cups whipping cream in a medium bowl with electric mixer on high speed until stiff. Fold chocolate mixture into the whipped cream.

Spoon the mixture into serving bowls and serve.

Ready in 2 hours 30 mins (Serves 6)
