Abid Bangash

you & me

The fashion industry often draws people from unexpected backgrounds, and Abid Bangash’s journey is no exception. Originally from Peshawar, Abid had no plans to enter the modelling world until one day, while scrolling through Instagram, he received a message inviting him to join Pakistan Couture Week 2022. With encouragement from friends, he decided to give it a shot. That first experience opened doors, and soon after, offers started coming his way.

Rather than rushing into every opportunity, Abid took a pause for eight months to refine his skills and approach, eventually partnering with Zinc Talent. Now, in addition to his background in computer science and kickboxing, he’s making a name for himself in the fashion industry. Walking for well-known brands like Republic, Muse, Amir Adnan, Generation, and Fahad Hussayn, Abid is building a solid career while also earning a nomination for Best Emerging Male Model. This week, he shares his likes and dislikes with our readers…

How do you handle struggles when life throws you a curveball?

Spending time with my mom really helps me through tough times. She’s my rock, and her wisdom gives me the strength I need to keep going.

What’s the gritty truth about the fashion industry?

The uncertainty is tough. There’s no guarantee of stability, and the pressure to stay relevant can be overwhelming. It’s a constant hustle.

How do you escape when boredom hits?

I love music - it’s my go-to way to unwind and relax. A little me-time with my favourite tunes helps me reset.

A lot of people think I’m rude or arrogant, but once they get to know me, they realise I’m actually very approachable and down-to-earth.

How do you manage your anger?

I hit the gym. A good workout helps me channel that energy in a positive way and clears my head.

How do you stay versatile while staying true to your essence?

I stay true to myself, even when I experiment with new looks or projects. I try not to make drastic changes in my personal life, but I adapt my style to each project while keeping my core identity intact.

How would you define love?

Love is about commitment - accepting each other for who you are and growing together. It’s about being there for each other through everything.

Paris, hands down. The city of love - it’s magical, from the Eiffel Tower to the cosy cafés.

What touches your heart the most?

Simplicity. It’s the little things - like a kind word or a quiet moment - that really resonate with me.

If you could relive a moment, what would it be?

I’d love to relive moments with my late father. Those memories are irreplaceable and hold a special place in my heart.
