The campaign called ‘Your Donations Will Help Us Help Them’ was recently announced at an event in Karachi.

Not many know that renowned theatre veteran and TV actor Latif Kapadia was one of the few actors who believe in helping those in need. Though he passed away in 2002, his family takes on the legacy of serving humanity under Latif Kapadia Memorial Welfare Trust (LKMWT), a non-profit organization that has been around for 10 years, making a name for itself in the healthcare sector for the poor.

LKMWT launched their Ramazan campaign, ‘Your Donations Will Help Us Help Them’, over the weekend at a media and bloggers’ meet that took place at a restaurant located in Bahadurabad, Karachi. It aimed to inform people about the purpose of the campaign and how LKMWT will use donations to help the underprivileged people during the Holy month.

“We will continue to reach out to public for spreading awareness on this campaign and also to serve the underprivileged community with the donations,” Ms. Naeema Kapadia, Program Director of LKMWT, said while speaking on the occasion. “Together, LKMWT and the donors aim to work for and help the public in need for better health care services which are being provided at the LKMWT clinics.”

Others present on the occasion included LKMWT family and supporters such as Latif Kapadia’s grandson and TV actor Hasan Ahmed and his wife and model-turned-actor Sunita Marshall, among others.

Speaking on the occasion Hasan Ahmed said, “LKMWT has been serving the people to provide them with primary healthcare services for the last 10 years. With this campaign, we believe we will be able to attract more supporters for this so that deserving people are able to get best possible healthcare services through LKMWT clinics. I am a part of this cause and I am confident that by becoming part of this cause, our supporters will enable us, even more, to take this noble initiative even further.”

We hope the Trust manages to get the support it requires to help the poor so that it is better able to achieve its purpose.
