In less than a month, the fourth edition of Lahore Music Meet will begin in Lahore. Like preceding years, the upcoming two-day symposium will take place at the Alhamra Arts Center and will continue to play host to enthusiasts, artisans, artists, patrons, industry representatives and academics in a bid to “initiate dialogue on the developments and shortcomings in music in Pakistan”.

The Lahore Music Meet team consists of festival directors Natasha Noorani and Zahra Paracha with Sana Nasir as lead designer and Munizeh Sanai as the programming manager. While the lineup and dates were announced recently, in the lead up to the festival’s arrival, the LMM team has unveiled a new poster that is designed by the brilliant Sana Nasir (also known as Koi Nahi) and that has us swooning with delight.

Nasir, of course, is no stranger to the music scene and designed the album artwork for Ali Suhail’s Pursuit of Irrelevance, released earlier this year. She was also the force behind LMM designs circa 2017 and is the art director for Sine Valley festival that is co-founded by Karachi-based music producer Daniel. A. Panjwaneey and recently concluded its second edition in Katmandu, Nepal.

The amount of effort put into little details is what makes LMM so very special. As for the 2018 edition, the lineup of artists is yet to be unveiled but given the 2017 edition where the likes of Sajjad Ali, Ali Azmat, Meesha Shafi, Momina Mustehsan, Uzair Jaswal, Slowspin, Ali Suhail, Poor Rich Boy, Javed Bashir, Patari Tabeer, Wisdom Salad, Kashmir, Wooly and the Uke, Abdullah Siddiqui, Shorbanoor, Janoobi Khargosh, Keeray Makoray, TMPST, MU, Mohammad Aizaz, Hathi, Ehlerock, Shajie, Saakin, Tonight Us, Jaubi and Noah’s Heark took the stage as performers, we expect an equally inclusive and diverse lineup of performers and participants from the 2018 run.
