Currently sizzling on the November cover of Filmfare magazine, actor Ranveer Singh’s career is on an unstoppable upward spiral post-Bajirao Mastani. Aside from his upcoming ventures, which include Aditya Chopra’s Befikre and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, Singh has become the go-to choice for endorsements. His latest is being named the (first) Indian ambassador for Switzerland Tourism, a country that has served as the backdrop for several Indian films, particularly ones by the late Yash Chopra.

Speaking about his new gig, Singh reportedly said, “Switzerland has always been known for its serenity and its natural beauty but what surprised me were the adventures in store for me when I visited. Going to Switzerland has always been my dream. After all it’s a country made famous by Yashji!”

Singh has also spoken about his alleged rift with Shahid Kapoor and made it clear that there is no animosity between the two co-stars. Calling such stories “rubbish”, the actor recently said on the matter: “I am very excited about Shahid [coming on board]. I think he’s a brilliant actor and an amazing inclusion to our team. He will add immense value.”

Padmavati’s shoot is right on schedule and the film has gone on floors in Mumbai after months of speculation. In the film, Padukone and Kapoor will essay husband and wife while Singh will wage war as the villain after being ensorcelled by Padukone’s beauty.

And while we’re on the subject of Singh and Padukone, it seems the reports of break-up were premature since the two have been spotted together, around town, and outside each other’s homes, indulging in mild PDA.
