MOSCOW: Aged 18, Julia Polyachihina, claimed the coveted title of Miss Russia after winning the beauty pageant held in the country’s capital.
With the title already in her name, she also won a cash prize of three million RUB (£33,780) and a new car.
A student of journalism Julia will now go on to represent Russia at the Miss World and Miss Universe beauty contests.
"I understand that I have to move on, reach new heights, I need to start to get ready for the next competition," she stated.
Remarking over her win, the 18-year-old diva said that she was not expecting it at all.
“I am still very nervous and I cannot believe that I got the title of Miss Russia.”
She elaborated further, “I was a little bit upset when I heard the second and third places. But I was really happy when I heard my name at the end.”
