Urdu fiction writer Naushabah Khatoon honoured at Mushaira in Qatar

DOHA: To celebrate the works of honourable fiction writer Naushabah Khatoon and Urdu poet Dr Nadeem Jeelani Danish, a reception and Mushaira was organised by Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar recently at a restaurant in Doha.

The event was presided by Mohammad Sabih Bukhari, Director of Satco group and the Patron Chief of Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar. Urdu fiction writer Naushabah Khatoon graced the reception as chief guest and Urdu poet Dr Nadeem Jeelani as the guest of honour.

The event entailed various prose and poetry sessions, amongst which Naushabah Khatoon’s book “Khizan K Baad” was also launched.

“The Urdu language is spreading all over the world and its popularity is gaining ground in the State of Qatar.

“It is interesting to note that many expatriates including Indians, Pakistanis, Nepalese are being drawn to this language and have started to understand the poetry, literature and culture of Urdu,” Naushabah stated while talking about the need of ‘fiction in Urdu writing’.

“Fiction is the spirit of novel and it appeals the reader to read the whole novel unless it is not finished. It created an interesting scenario in his/her mind,” she added.
