London’s dark nights lit up by annual Lumiere Light Festival
"Forget the January blues – Lumiere London promises to be one of the brightest and most exciting times of the year," said Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. "This is an incredible opportunity to see London's iconic architecture and streets in a completely new way."
LONDON: Lumiere London Light Festival is set to rid London of its dark and cold atmosphere. Fifty light installations by various artists from international and local community have illuminated the streets, buildings, squares of UK capital.
Lumiere London Light Festival is one of the largest that is held from January 18 to 21. The festival is open for all and is like an open-air gallery. It allows visitors to experience the city in close and personal.
"Forget the January blues – Lumiere London promises to be one of the brightest and most exciting times of the year," said Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. "This is an incredible opportunity to see London's iconic architecture and streets in a completely new way."
The light festival was held for the first time in 2016 and it lasted for four days and attracted more than a million visitors.
This year the festival has been divided into six sectors, allowing people to explore more areas of the city.
The festival is spread over a large area so visitors are advised to download the map and plan their trips accordingly as visiting the whole place in one night is not possible.
