China’s highest power transmission line goes through maintenance
China has the highest voltage and altitude transmission line with a 1100 kV ultra high voltage, maintenance of which is the most difficult and risky a job.
Male and female maintenance workers in China help keep the world’s highest voltage power line working. It stretches across the Yellow River before the line officially goes into service. Maintenance workers walked gingerly on the wires about 300 meters above the yellow river surface in order to ensure smooth working of the system. The spacers are installed between the wires every 50 meters so as to keep a safe distance between the wires. The female workers of the crew were recent graduates from college who wished to pursue this line of work.
This transmission line has the highest voltage, goes through the longest distance, has the largest capacity and faces the greatest difficulty in construction all over the world.
