Art and Karachi go hand in hand
The painted reels have been placed in various public places including Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Empress Market, National Museum of Pakistan, Central Jail, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Hill Park.
In collaboration with Karachi Biennale Trust, ‘A Reel On Karachi: Art Installation’ has been recently launched all across the city.
100 empty cable reels were provided by Pakistan Cables to architects, designers and artists of the city who took it up as a unique canvas and painted it with artistic aesthetics. Artists used the power of their paint brushes to turn these reels into artworks representing Pakistani heroes, culture and aesthetics.
The empty reels provide a unique canvas to artists to express themselves. The painted reels have been placed in various public places including Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Empress Market, National Museum of Pakistan, Central Jail, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Hill Park.
The project aims to bring the art community together and celebrate the multicultural history and diversity of the city that is Karachi.
