TECOMAN, MEXICO: A 10-month-old baby in Mexico weighs a shocking 60lbs and doctors can't figure out why.
Luis Manuel Gonzales' weight has increased drastically since his birth at which he weighed a normal 7.7 lbs. Unable to walk and crawl because of his excessive weight, Luis's weight increased by 3 times than that of an average baby of his age. His parents cannot even pick him up.
Luis visits hospital almost four times a week for regular tests. His 3-year-old brother Mario weighs normally.
While Luis' weight gain remains an enigma yet to be solved, doctors predict he might be suffering from Mexico's growing obesity epidemic. Others propose he might have a genetic food disorder that may be cured from hormone shots.
However, that is out of the question as they cost around $600 per shot. For this purpose Luis' parents made a Facebook page where people could chip in donations for the required hormone shots.
