PSL spot-fixing: PCB provisionally suspends Shahzaib Hasan
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday suspended the fourth player to be mired in the Pakistan Super League spot-fixing scandal.
According to details, the cricketer was provisionally suspended by the PCB for being involved in the PSL spot-fixing scandal and was handed a charge-sheet. Like Irfan, Shahzaib has to submit a reply within 14 days to the charge-sheet. Shahzaib has been charged with violations of Code Articles 2.1.4, 2.4.4 and 2.4.5 and has been suspended from participating in all forms of cricket with immediate effect.
This makes Shahzaib the fourth cricketer who has been provisionally suspended in the aftermath of the PSL spot-fixing saga. Earlier, PCB suspended Mohammad Irfan, Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif for being allegedly involved in the scandal and issued them all charge sheets.
Mohammad Irfan represented Islamabad United while Shahzaib played for Karachi Kings in the second PSL in Dubai last month but both were cleared to play in their remaining matches.
The PCB has established a three-member tribunal to hear the spot-fixing case later this month.
