RAF Fairford suspects released on bail as investigation continues

British authorities arrested five men suspected of sabotage near RAF Fairford, who have now been released on bail, said counterterrorism police, adding the investigation is not over.

Following the bail, Laurence Taylor, counterterrorism police chief, explicitly told the reporters, “This does not mean that the investigation is over."

Given the gravity of the alleged criminal act, the suspects, the senior official said, will be subject to “stringent conditions” to monitor their movement and contact with others.

“They absolutely remain under investigation as we explore multiple lines of enquiry,” he said.

The men, meanwhile, were traveling in three vehicles, which Taylor confirmed had been thoroughly checked with the help of the military and forensic experts.

The scene at the moment, however, is cordoned off as the investigation continues, while the police head added that the "significant resources” remain deployed.
