Omid Scobie makes starling claim about Kate Middleton's role in relationship between Prince William, Harry

Omid Scobie, a royal expert who is very close to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, believes that the Duke's relationship with his elder brother Prince William will never improve.

Speaking in a new Disney+ documentary about Harry and Meghan's return to Britain, the royal expert also addressed whether Kate was a 'peacekeeper' who could help heal the rift.

However, regarding Harry and Meghan’s ties with King Charles, Scobie says the monarch now has a 'warmth' towards the royal couple.

The Daily Mail quoted the author as saying: '”I think we've seen with Charles things have moved forward and that iciness has thawed out. There's a warmth there. With William, I don't see it will ever change.

“There's always this talk of Kate potentially being the peacekeeper, the one that could bring the two brothers together,” he said and added, “If I've learned anything over the years from covering them, it's that Kate has very little to do with that relationship between the brothers.”

Omid Scobie’s remarks came days after King Charles issued letter to clarify Meghan and Harry’s status after their return to Britain.

Another royal expert Rob Shuter recently claimed William pushed King Charles to clarify Harry and Meghan’s status, adding ‘William has won, for now.’

The clarification, issued through the Lord Chamberlain at the King’s direction, effectively kills any suggestion that returning to Britain brings Meghan and Harry closer to official royal life.
